Bugging Devices In Polish Cabinet Council Premises

The security services took action.

The Polish State Protection Service (SOP), in cooperation with the Internal Security Agency (ABW), discovered and dismantled devices that could have been used for listening surveillance in the premises where a meeting of the Cabinet Council will be held today in Katowice, tvn24.pl reports.

"The services are carrying out further activities in this case," said Jacek Dobrzyński, the Minister's press secretary for coordinating the activities of special services.

The meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers will begin at noon in the building of the Silesian Voivodeship Office.

In connection with the European Economic Congress, which takes place in the capital of Upper Silesia, the Council of Ministers meets in this city as an exception. The Prime Minister and ministers arrived in Katowice on Tuesday morning by train.

At 10 a.m., Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen will take part in the solemn opening ceremony of the European Economic Congress. Representatives of other governments will also attend the event.
