Statement by the Polish Defense Minister.

Poland is ready to help Ukraine return men of military age back to the country.

Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said on Wednesday, April 24, Reuters reports.

Earlier, Poland offered to help Ukraine so that those who are subject to military service return to their country to fulfill their civic duty.

"I think many Poles are outraged when they see young Ukrainian men in hotels and cafes, and hear how much effort we have to make to help Ukraine," he said.

Kosiniak-Kamysz did not specify how Poland would help in this matter. However, he added that "any support is possible" if there is an appeal from Ukraine.

According to the Eurostat database, as of January 2024, about 4.3 million Ukrainians live in the EU countries, of which about 860,000 are adult men.
