Russian President Vladimir Putin has awarded actor and director of the Moscow Gubernsky Drama Theatre Sergei Bezrukov with the order "For services in culture and art", the corresponding decree published on the portal of legal information.

Bezrukov was awarded for his contribution to the development of Russian culture and art, as well as for many years of fruitful activity.

Earlier, the actor publicly supported the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Performing the play "The Little Prince" in front of children from the "LPR" and "DPR", Bezrukov said that Russian soldiers are doing their duty.

"We want to support our guys, your fathers, your brothers, your husbands, who are fighting for our safety today. They need our support," the actor said. Earlier, he noted that he would not leave Russia, as it is where he is "in his place".

In 2022, the European Union and then Canada put Bezrukov on a sanctions list for actively supporting the war in Ukraine and spreading disinformation.
