Major Drone Attack On Russia: Oil Depot Burning Near Smolensk

On the night of April 20, in the Kardymovsky district of the Smolensk region of Russia, a drone attacked a fuel and energy complex facility. There is a fire there. This was announced by Governor of the Smolensk region Vasily Anokhin.

“Today at about 2 am there was an attempt by Ukrainian UAVs to attack a fuel and energy complex facility in the Kardymovsky district. As a result of the work of the air defense forces, the aircraft were shot down. However, as a result of falling debris, a container with fuel and lubricants caught fire,” Anokhin noted.

He explained that emergency workers were working at the scene to put out the fire.

“Information about the victims is being clarified. Special services and competent authorities are investigating this situation,” Anokhin emphasized.

The governor of the Smolensk region did not specify at which facility the fire had occurred. However, it is known that in this area there is, in particular, the Kardymovo oil depot, which belongs to LUKOIL-Tsentrnaftoprodukt.

Governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov said that in the village of Poroz, Grayvoron urban district, two local residents had been killed as a result of a UAV attack.

Also, governor of the Kaluga region Vladislav Shapsha said that on the night of April 20, as a result of a UAV explosion in the area of an electrical substation in the Maloyaroslavets region, the energy infrastructure had been damaged.
