Under a false flag.

The Russian occupiers are preparing to carry out another provocation at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. The invaders can blame Ukraine.

This was reported by the General Staff of Ukraine on Facebook.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russian terrorists may conduct a new provocation under a false flag.

"Russia is the only terrorist in the world that holds a nuclear power plant hostage and uses it to blackmail Ukraine and the whole world. No one else, except Russian terrorists, put the world so close to the border of a conscious radiation disaster," the General Staff said.

Just in recent weeks, the Russians have tried several times to shift responsibility to Ukraine for the use of drones to attack the ZNPP facilities.

"These are deliberate Russia’s actions that continue the Russian practice of blackmailing our state and the entire international community with the risk of a catastrophe at the ZNPP. Ukraine has always been responsible for the safety of nuclear facilities. Only the return of ZNPP under the control of Ukraine can restore the real safety of the plant," the report reads.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine adds that the safety of the Zaporizhzhia NPP cannot be guaranteed while Russian troops are there.

Situation in Zaporizhzhia

The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, located in the city of Enerhodar, Zaporizhzhia region. The nuclear power plant was occupied by the Russians at the beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022. The invaders installed their weapons there.

During the war and occupation, the Zaporizhzhia NPP was repeatedly disconnected from the lines that connected it with the Ukrainian energy system. According to experts, this may threaten not only Ukraine but also Russia and European nations.

The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant put all reactors into a state of “cold shutdown”. On April 13, the last unit was put into this state. The Ministry of Energy explained that this is important to avoid a nuclear catastrophe.
