There’re Hepatitis A Cases From Belarus In Latvia

There have been nine cases of hepatitis A in Latvia in the last two weeks. It is reported by Delfi citing the Center for Disease Prevention and Control.

All cases of hepatitis A are imported. At the same time, six of them were registered after the return of people from Belarus. The remaining cases are related to trips to Morocco, Egypt and Zanzibar.

Hepatitis A is an inflammatory liver disease. Unlike hepatitis B and C, type A does not cause chronic liver disease, but may be accompanied by severe symptoms and acute liver failure.
