The plan is to put them on duty on the roofs of houses.

Sergey Khatylev, former commander of the Air Defence Forces' special-purpose antiaircraft missile forces, has proposed to involve pensioners and veterans to prevent drone attacks. He said this in an interview with the Daily Storm.

According to him, in order to fight against drones, the Russian Federation should resort to the experience of World War II - to use "people's brigades, aerostats, as well as to put up modern sounders, which are to substitute "listeners" of 1914-1945".

"The local air defence brigade was designated to a particular area, there were observation posts. Civilians, including children, were on duty with binoculars or whatever, observing the sky. They also fought against incendiary grenades," said Khatylev.

Retired generals and colonels would be especially useful here, he said. The former military commander also suggested introducing the project of using high-pressure water cannons, which, he said, "knock down these drones and destroy them."
