Political Analyst: Lukashenka Understands Only Language Of Force

Political analyst and historian Alexander Fridman commented on his Telegram-channel on the statement of the head of the European diplomacy, Josep Borell, that Brussels would impose new sanctions against the regime in Minsk:

- Lukashenka understands only the language of force, and threats have no effect on him. Angela Merkel can confirm this thesis by a number of personal examples. But the EU leadership has not yet grasped this fundamental truth (or does not want to): Ursula von der Leyen threatened Lukashenka with new sanctions, which were never adopted. Now, Josep Borell has taken up the baton, calling on the Belarusian authorities to refuse to place nuclear weapons and avoid new sanctions.

If Borell had been more interested in Belarus, he would have known that 1) such issues are out of Lukashenka's competence, and 2) bone will not go out of the flesh.
