USA Approves Sale Of HIMARS, Its Ammunition To Poland

The US State Department has approved a possible military sale of HIMARS launchers and related equipment to Poland.

This is said in a statement by the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency. Poland has requested the purchase of 18 HIMARS launchers, 45 Army Tactical Missile System Missiles (ATACMS) and Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) missiles. The total estimated cost is $10 billion.

It is noted that the deal will support the foreign policy and national security goals of the United States by enhancing the security of its NATO ally.

"Poland intends to use these defence products and services to modernise its armed forces and enhance its capabilities to strengthen its national defence and deter regional threats. Poland will have no difficulty incorporating this technology into its armed forces," the statement said.
