Ex-DPR terrorist leader and war criminal Igor Strelkov (Girkin) spoke about the lies of Russian propaganda regarding the success of the occupation army near Ugledar:

- The bravura statements about the breakthrough near Ugledar are a lie (Denis Pushilin (leader of the DPR - ed.) shouted the loudest about it. He is an expert only in lying, stealing and cheating).

According to Girkin, the village, which had been turned into a single fortress, could not be seized at once:

- Now the troops trying to storm it are at an extreme disadvantage compared to the defending AFU units, which hide in concrete basements and have the ability to adjust artillery fire at a considerable distance, even without the use of technical means.
