Financial institutions are faced with a shortage of components.

According to the OL news publisher, the Belarusian Sberbank decided to apply the experience of Russia in Belarus: they will get chips from the cards that were issued, but were not in demand by customers, remove personal information from them and insert them into a new "plastic".

As the chairman of the board at Sberbank, Ihar Merkulau, said, the bank has at least 200 thousand such blanks with chips.

Sberbank is going to introduce chips from old cards into new cards of the BELKART/MIR payment system.

Earlier, the Russian SBER announced that it intends to extract chips from unused cards in order to solve the problem with the shortage of card components.

Recall that due to sanctions and supply problems, banks faced a shortage of forms for issuing new cards and started to extend the validity of already issued ones.
