MAZ Buses Taken Off Routes in St. Petersburg Due to Fires

There have been two accidents with Belarusian buses in a month in the Russian city.

Russian transport company Domtransavto, serving several routes in St. Petersburg, will remove MAZ buses from the routes and send the entire batch for examination. The decision was made after the second fire in June on buses of this model, reports Fontanka.

On June 10, MAZ caught fire on Vitebsk Ave. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the bus "burnt out parts". There were no casualties. Another bus caught fire this morning on Svetlanovsky Avenue. The fire extinguishing system went off in the bus, the driver took the passengers out of the salon; no one was injured.

According to the newspaper, several MAZ specialists will come to St. Petersburg to conduct a second audit.
