The proceeds will go to support the musicians from the Irdorath band.

Aquarium band leader Boris Grebenshchikov organized an action in support of the Belarusian musicians-political prisoners from the Irdorath band. He put up his vest, which he was wearing as he performed at his 2005-2006 concert tour, for a charity auction.

“When people are jailed for playing music in the street, it means that something is very wrong in this world,” says Grebenshchikov. “And this means: if you can help in any way, help.”

The proceeds will go to support the musicians from Irdorath. In December 2021, the leaders of the group Nadzeya and Uladzimir Kalach were sentenced to two years in prison, while musicians Piotr Marchanka, Yulia Marchanka, and Anton Shnip were sentenced to 1.5 years in a general regime penal colony each. They were found guilty of “participating and organizing events that grossly violate public order” — they played music at mass protests in August 2020.
