Four new battle groups will be directed to Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania.

NATO deploys 40,000 troops to its eastern flank in response to the invasion of Russia into Ukraine in order to strengthen the defence.

According to the ВВС, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg made the announcement at a press conference of the NATO summit.

He says that Russia's invasion of Ukraine is "the biggest security crisis in the generation." Four new battle groups will be directed to Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania.

Stoltenberg also said that cyber defence is increasing, and NATO will help Ukraine to protect the country from "biological, chemical, radiological, and nuclear threats".

According to him, any use of chemical weapons "would totally change the nature of the conflict, it would be a blatant violation of international law and would have far-reaching consequences”.

According to him, Putin's invasion of Ukraine changed our security environment for the long term, and NATO is ready for "long ways".
