What's the reason?

Turkey has disappeared from the shelves of shops in Brest. It was reported to state TV by a resident of the city.

The woman said that her father was seriously ill and it was the only meat that suited him. For the last three weeks she has been forced to search for turkey around the city. The shop, where the TV channel's employees turned to, said the turkey had disappeared after shops were banned from dressing it.

"We continued our search at the Brest market. The only outlets here have been selling turkey meat for six years. They sell over 100 kilos of meat a day. For three weeks now, the flow of customers has multiplied," the channel's representatives said.

One shopper said she had come for turkey to the market as she could not find it in the shops. Another one shared that she came to buy meat from Kamianets, where "there is no turkey".

Today, only two farms in Belarus are actively selling turkey. Another one is preparing to launch in Minsk region. The project is in the preparation stage.
