Poland Starts Building 5-Meter Border Fence On Belarusian Border

On Tuesday, Poland started building a fence on its border with Belarus. The new fence will stretch for 186 kilometres. It will be 5.5 metres high, reports pap.pl.

Preparatory work in the border area has already started, and on January 25, builders began working there.

The fence is to be built by June. The project will cost $160 million. Its need arose against the background of the migration crisis, when large numbers of migrants from Belarus tried to cross the border illegally.
