Two Kilos To Person: Sugar Became Deficit In Vitsebsk Region

It hasn't been like this since the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Sugar has suddenly turned into a deficit product - in some regions of Vitsebsk region it is sold only by two kilograms to one consumer, reported Narodnye Novastsi Vitsebsk.

The food trucks of Lepel District consumer cooperative society, driving to the villages of Chashniki district, surprised the villagers by such a measure. The first thing buyers asked about was whether there was any sugar at all. Having heard that there is sugar, but it is sold by two packs per one person, the villagers first took this news as a joke.

However, the store clerk explained that this is a real measure. And if she sells as much sugar as asked for, there may not be enough left for the customers at the end of the truck route.

Also, residents of the villages of the neighboring Beshankovichy district reported disruptions in the supply of granulated sugar. Earlier, social networks wrote about sugar shortages in Sharkaushchyna and Hlubokaye districts.
