The country's embassy in Moscow is closely monitoring the provocations of the Belarusian authorities.

On August 5, the Foreign Ministry of Iraq made a statement about the "murder" of its citizen near the Belarusian-Lithuanian border.

The Foreign Ministry informs that the country's embassy in Moscow is carefully following the investigation of the incident that caused the death.

The Foreign Ministry also appealed again to the citizens of Iraq "not to be a target for human trafficking".

We remind that on August 4, Belarusian state mass media and pro-governmental telegram channels informed that "an Iraqi was found in a grave condition" near the Belarusian-Lithuanian border.

Lithuanian border guards stated they have not received information about the incident with the Iraqi citizen from the Belarusian authorities, saying they learned about it from the media. The Lithuanian officials deny any involvement in the incident. The Ministry of Defense called the incident a "provocation," while the Interior Ministry called it a "Grimm brothers' fairy tale".
