Chairman of the Belarusian Tennis Federation RPO Siarhei Tsiatseryn applied for resignation on Monday. This is reported on the website of the organization.

The reason was the results of the performances of Belarusian tennis players at the Tokyo Olympics. At the Games in Tokyo, Belarus was represented by three athletes. Aryna Sabalenka dropped out in the 1/16 finals, at a similar stage Yahor Herasimau finished his performance, Illia Ivashka lost in the 1/8 finals.

In the doubles, Ivashka and Herasimau lost in the 1/16 finals. The Belarusian athletes did not compete in mixed doubles due to low ratings.
