Maryja Kalesnikava - About Lukashists: It’s a Gang of Mean, Cowardly Thieves

  • 3.08.2021, 15:29

Only one principle works with them: do not believe, do not be afraid, do not ask and laugh.

The Belarusian political prisoner Maryja Kalesnikava, who is in a pre-trial detention center in Minsk, was offered to speak on the national state channel with an interview similar to that given by the former editor-in-chief of the telegram channel NEXTA Raman Pratasevich. Kalesnikava herself told about this in an interview with Rain. Read the full interview with her soon on the Dozhd website.

According to Kalesnikava, during her stay in the pre-trial detention center, she was offered several times “in various forms” to cooperate with the investigation and write a petition for clemency. “I myself propose to initiate a dialogue, negotiations in order to end the confrontation in society. I was “heard” and offered to act in films a la Raman [Pratasevich],” she said.

Kalesnikava added that she agreed to give an interview to ONT journalist Marat Markau on condition that she tells "the shocking truth about the abduction, investigation, and lawlessness in prison." The oppositionist also refused to write a petition for pardon since she does not consider herself guilty.

“This is a gang of mean, cowardly thieves, and it would be strange to trust them. They always lie. Do not believe, do not be afraid, do not ask and laugh - this is my principle of communicating with them,” explained Kalesnikava.
