A new delta strain of the coronavirus has been identified in the Hrodna region, kp.by reports.

According to the chief sanitary physician of the region, the analyzes of samples that were taken selectively from patients with the coronavirus in the Lida district contain mutations characteristic of the Indian strain.

At the same time, he said that a small increase in the incidence of the coronavirus infection was recorded in the Lida district.

The delta strain is highly infectious, gastrointestinal disorders are more common among patients with this type of the coronavirus, and taste and smell disorders appear less common.
