The human rights situation in Belarus continues to deteriorate.

Belarus has suspended the work of the office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Minsk. This is what the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet told to the press, reports Belsat.

The High Commissioner says she "continues to receive numerous reports of arbitrary arrests and detentions, torture and ill-treatment". She believes that the office in Minsk was a "window for cooperation," and stresses that the human rights situation in Belarus is still deteriorating.
