The countries of the Group of 7 have discussed the Belarusian issue.

This is stated in a communiqué, issued on Sunday following the three-day summit of the leaders of the informal association of Britain, Germany, Italy, Canada, USA, France and Japan in Carbis Bay, reports TASS.

"We call on the regime to change its course and implement the recommendations of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) independent expert mission under the Moscow Mechanism, to enter into meaningful dialogue with all sectors of society and to hold new free and fair elections," the 25-page document said.

The G7 countries will cooperate in order to bring to justice those involved in the incident with the forced landing of the Irish aircraft Ryanair, carrying Raman Pratasevich, in Minsk.

The G7 countries are concerned about the continuing attacks of the Belarusian authorities on human rights, fundamental freedoms and international law.
