This was stated by the EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy.

The European Union is working on a new package of sanctions against the Belarusian regime in connection with the continuation of repressions against Belarusians and the Polish community.

According to European Pravda, this was stated by the EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy, Josep Borrel.

According to him, the Belarusian regime continues to persecute opposition representatives.

“We are working on a new package of sanctions against the Belarusian regime, I hope it will be adopted in the coming weeks. This package will include a response to all recent actions, including the persecution of the Polish community,” Borrell said.

Let us remind you that, at the end of February, the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, promised that the fourth package of sanctions against Belarus would be prepared. According to media reports, work on it has been ongoing since early March.

The EU sanctions list has already included 84 individuals and 7 legal entities responsible for repression and fraud in the elections in Belarus.
