  • 1.05.2021, 10:23

Only 3% of the population received the first dose of the vaccine.

The first component of the COVID-19 vaccine in Belarus was received by more than 3% of the population, Chief State Sanitary Doctor Aliaksandr Tarasenka told BelTA.

“Just over 3% of the population has already been vaccinated with the first component of the vaccine, mainly Sputnik V. We expect soon, no later than next week, the receipt of almost 500 thousand doses of the Sputnik V vaccine produced at the Belmedpreparaty enterprise, so the rate of vaccination will increase," said Aliaksandr Tarasenko.

Vaccination rates in Belarus remain low compared to those in Russia, Lithuania, and Poland.
