Belarus National Football Team Head Coach Resigns

It happened after the 0:8 defeat from Belgium.

The Belarusian Football Federation reacted to the demands of the local football fans to dismiss head coach of the Belarus national team Mikhail Markhel, Radio Svaboda informs.

Under his leadership, the team set a new anti-record - the 0:8 defeat from Belgium in the qualification round for the World Cup 2022.

According to the website of the BFF, “the Belarusian Football Federation and the head coach of the national team have come to a mutual decision to terminate the contract. The BFF expresses its gratitude to Mikhail Markhel for the cooperation, and wishes him success in his career in the future”.

Belarus is to play the next World Cup qualifier against the Czech Republic on September 2 this year.
