Nuclear Fuel for the Second Power Unit Delivered to BelNPP

Fuel delivery is taking place against the backdrop of several power unit shutdowns.

Nuclear fuel for the second power unit has been delivered to BelNPP, the Energy Ministry reports. The train with fuel assemblies with fresh nuclear fuel for the second power unit arrived at the BelNPP site on Monday.

In accordance with the technical regulations, BelNPP specialists together with the general contractor - JSC EC ASE - will ensure fuel feeding, as well as its incoming control.

Until the start of loading nuclear fuel into the reactor of the second power unit, the fuel assemblies will be stored in the fresh nuclear fuel storage.

Fuel delivery is taking place against the backdrop of a series of power-unit shutdowns, which the authorities call “planned.”

Earlier, environmentalists drew attention to an interesting point in the reports of the state media about the so-called planned shutdown of the BelNPP power unit in Astravets.
