Viktar Babaryka’s Confiscated Car Sold At Auction

The 2015 Ford Fiesta, which belonged to ex-banker and political prisoner Viktar Babaryka, was bought at an auction, SmartPress writes.

Ford was confiscated by the Financial Investigations Department of the State Control Committee in June last year. It was put up for auction in November. The auction took place on December 2, 6 participants were announced.

Bidding began at 17.8 thousand rubles. As a result, the car was sold for 19.6 thousand rubles.

In total, Viktar Babaryka owned three cars in the summer of 2020: his personal Ford Fiesta, which he used for household purposes, a leased 2018 Tesla Model X, and a 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser 200.

Important to note, ex-chair of the board of Belgazprombank Viktar Babaryka on May 12 last year announced his presidential ambitions. By the time the candidates were registered, Babaryka had already been detained. He was denied registration on the basis of information from the letter of the State Control Committee.
