Human Rights Defender Leanid Sudalenka Was Charged

The laureate of the French Liberty-Equality-Brotherhood Prize and the Charter-97 Prize remains in custody.

Homel human rights activist Leanid Sudalenka was charged, according to the telegram channel Viasna.

This is the article "Organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order and financing of such activities" (parts 1 and 2 of article 342 of the Criminal Code). Sudalenka was detained on January 18. He remains in custody in SIZO-3 in Homel.

Leanid Sudalenka is the head of the Homel branch of the Viasna human rights center.
