Norway Did Not Recognize Lukashenka's Legitimacy

The elections in Belarus were neither free nor fair, the Norwegian Foreign Ministry said.

Norway believes that Lukashenka's "inauguration" did not give him legitimacy.

Audun Halvorsen, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway, wrote about it on Twitter.

"Lukashenka's «inauguration» only deepens the political crisis in Belarus. Norway MFA repeats call for authorities to abstain from violence and engage in a serious dialogue with the opposition. The elections were neither free nor fair," Halvorsen said.
