They will affect those responsible for violence and falsification.

The states of the European Union agreed that they would not accept the official "results" of the presidential elections in Belarus announced by the CEC.

As the correspondent of "Evropeyskaya Pravda" reports, this was announced by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, commenting on the results of the conversation between the heads of the foreign ministries of the EU states.

Borrell, in particular, confirmed the information that the EU has agreed to impose sanctions. "Work begins on sanctioning those responsible for violence and falsification," he said. Earlier, representatives of the EU states have already announced the preparation of a decision on sanctions.

In addition, the chief of European diplomacy announced a joint decision not to recognize Lukashenka's victory in the elections.

"The EU does not accept the (announced Friday) election results," Josep Borrell said.

As you know, for such a statement on behalf of the EU, this position must be supported by all member states without exception, as foreign policy decisions in the EU are approved by consensus.
