Employees Of Institute Of Physics At National Academy Of Sciences Announce ‘Italian’ Strike

Institute workers gathered near the entrance and put forward political demands.

Employees of the Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences said they were starting an "Italian strike". Senior researcher Ivan Siutsou told Radio Svaboda about this.

On the morning of August 12, more than a dozen employees of the Institute of Physics gathered in the foyer of the institution. They were holding a poster with the demands to the authorities:

- on the basis of massive falsifications, do not recognize the results of voting in the presidential election;

- release political prisoners and detainees during protests on the day and after the election;

- to connect the Internet, without which work in the current conditions becomes impossible.

The department of Ivan Siutsou, among other things, is attached to the space projects of the Academy of Sciences, and has extensive international contacts in this area.
