Brussels is closely following the latest protests in Belarus.

The European Union is discussing new sanctions against Lukashenka and his regime.

According to European Pravda, this was stated by the representative of the European Commission Peter Stano at a briefing in Brussels.

"Work on them continues, the EU Council is discussing the second wave, the second stage of sanctions. And as soon as this work is completed, the sanctions will be adopted and announced," Stano said.

He also noted that the Belarusian authorities do not enter into dialogue with the opposition, and Brussels is closely following the development of events, including the latest protests.

Earlier, the European Union stated that it does not rule out new sanctions against Belarus if the regime in Minsk decides to use military weapons during mass protests.
