The artist supported the activist who painted the hands of the monument to Alexander Pushkin with the color of blood.

Artist Ales Pushkin came with red hands to the presentation of books by Siarhei Scrabets and Ales Bialiatski from the series "Prison Literature," euroradio.fm reports.

As previously reported, in January, the hands of the monument to the poet Alexander Pushkin in Minsk were painted with blood color. The protest caused a great resonance. Some people believed it was a protest against Russian colonial policy. Others believed that the hands of the monuments to politicians, not poets, should be painted red.

Philip Shaurou, a Young Front activist, took responsibility for this deed.

Artist Ales Pushkin is known for his provocative performances. Perhaps the most famous of them was the hand-barrow of dung, which Pushkin brought to the Lukashenka administration and overturned in front of it in 1999.
