Belarusian Refineries Operate on Oil Reserves

  • 3.01.2020, 10:40

Supplies from Russia have been stopped.

OAO Naftan (Navapolatsk, Vitsebsk region) and Mozyr Refinery (Homel region) declare no contracts with Russian oil companies for oil supply and the supply of raw materials has been terminated since January 1, 2020. Both refineries continue to operate on oil residues accumulated in late December, Interfax reports.

"We operate on oil reserves accumulated in December. Contracts for oil supply are still not concluded. There are no supplies from January 1," a representative of the refinery told Interfax-West.

"As compared to December 31 (2019 - note), the situation has not changed. There are no contracts for oil supply," stated the representative of another refinery.

The enterprises note that the current petroleum reserves will let refineries operate at a technologically acceptable level until mid-January.

Belneftekhim Concern does not comment on the situation.

As earlier reported, on the eve of New Year Belarus failed to agree with Russian oil companies on oil supply terms from January 1, 2020.
