Lukashenka signed a decree, introducing an environmental tax on the transit of oil through Belarus, tut.by reports.

- In order to create a source of funds to eliminate possible environmental consequences in the event of an accident on the main oil pipeline or other emergencies associated with the transit of oil and petroleum products through the territory of Belarus, the profit tax rate of 50% has been set for organizations transporting oil and petroleum products," - the statement reads.

In addition, transit transportation of crude oil and petroleum products through the territory of Belarus by main pipelines has been recognized will be the object of environmental taxation.
