Giedroyc Literary Award Ceremony Held In Minsk

The award ceremony took place on September 25 at the Palace of Arts.

The first place (and 14 thousand rubles) went to Illia Sin and his novel "Libido". In a comment to journalists, the winner admitted that he had not read the works of other short listers, but plans to do so in the future, euroradio.fm reports.

The second place (and a trip to Scandinavia to the island of Gotland) is held by Mikhail Andrasiuk's novel "Pounia". The jury noted it for its unusual interpretation of the national mythopoetic tradition.

The third place (and the possibility of publishing an audio book) was won by Alena Brava's novel "The Sadom Apple Tree" - for the depth of social diagnostics by means of fiction.

The prize from Nobel laureate Svetlana Alexievich (a latest model of iPhone) went to Siarhei Kalenda for the book "Sometimes Punks Die".
