Lukashenka: Belarus And China Develop Powerful Weapons

Today, Aliaksandr Lukashenka said this, receiving with a report Raman Halouchanka, Chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee, BelTA informs.

Aliaksandr Lukashenka notes that after the termination of the Treaty on the elimination of medium-range and shorter-range missiles, Belarus became the focus of attention.

"The point is that we, being in this cauldron, a hot political spot, can't help but pay attention to ensuring our security. Unfortunately, the world has not become safer. We see it and, naturally, we must take certain measures," - Lukashenka said.

Lukashenka also asked about the development of enterprises, regarding which certain instructions had been given. In particular, the 558th Aircraft Repair Plant in Baranavichy, the Vorsha Aircraft Repair Plant and the Communications Technique Company in Baran were discussed. "There was more than one order. Especially when we were looking at new weapon systems. How are these orders implemented? They are related not only to the restoration of existing enterprises. They are related to the production of the latest weapons that we are able to create today," - he said.

He also asked about the development of the missile industry. Aliaksandr Lukashenka reminded that Belarus has already created a medium-range missile.

"The idea was to increase the range and power of these missiles basing on the experience of our partners, especially the People's Republic of China, with which we actively cooperate in the field of missile construction. I would like to know how the issues are progressing here and how the set tasks are being solved," - Lukashenka said.
