Lukashenka - To Teachers: Don't Moan That You're Having Hard Time

  • 26.08.2019, 14:32

The dictator said he "places reliance upon teachers."

Lukashenka confessed that he "has mixed feelings" about teachers' complaints that they are forced to do other jobs than teaching, his press service reports.

Receiving a report from Education Minister Ihar Karpenka, Lukashenka said that sometimes teachers complain that they are allegedly forced to write and fill out certain papers, as well as do other work, except for lessons.

- I have mixed feelings about it. All sorts of reports and self-evaluation statements - we must remove all the unnecessary things from teachers. But the teacher should not forget that his calling is such that not only school is his place of work. He is the central figure in our society. He is a person with knowledge. And together with a doctor, especially in small, middle-sized towns, villages, agro-towns, he is the main stars and big names. They have to carry knowledge to people, they bring up people, so they shouldn't moan in the sense that "ah, it's hard for us," - Aliaksandr Lukashenka said.

The dictator also stated that the state and he, in particular, "place reliance upon teachers".

- We are nothing without a teacher, because we have no one to rely on at this market time, except the teacher. Especially in villages and small towns," - Aliaksandr Lukashenka added.
