Belarus Prayed For In Catherine Church Of Chernihiv

The divine service was conducted by priests of the Belarusian Autocephalous Orthodox Church.

On the eve, the international conference "Belarusian Intelligentsia in Support of the Belarusian Autocephalous Orthodox Church," which gathered about 150 participants, was held in Chernihiv, Novy Chas writes.

Among the delegates, there were also priests of the Belarusian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, including the head of the church, Archbishop Sviataslau (Lohin) from New York.

On Sunday, August 18, Archbishop Sviataslau together with Archpriest Leanid Akulovich and hieromonk Vikentsi from Minsk held a divine service for Belarus and Ukraine. The divine service was attended by several dozens of guests from Belarus.

As Father Leanid Akulovich said after the service, the conference contributed to the strengthening of the autocephalous movement in Belarus: the Minsk parish of St. Eufrasinnia of Polatsk, which has existed for 30 years, will soon increase due to new parishes in Homel, Mahiliou, Vitsebsk and Vorsha.
