People's Artist of Belarus Auhust Milavanau died today at the age of 82, tut.by reports.

Auhust Milavanau was born in 1937 in Volgograd. In 1961, he graduated from the acting faculty of the Theatre and Art Institute with a degree of Actor of Drama Theatre and Cinema.

He worked at the Volgograd Regional Theater, the Belarusian Drama Theater named after Yakub Kolas in Vitsebsk. Since 1962 - in the Kupala Theatre.

In 1988, he was awarded the State Prize of Belarus for his role as Vershila in the play "Mudromer" by Matukouski. In 1989, he was awarded the title of People's Artist of Belarus.
