The dictator has signed Decree No. 4, which amends a number of existing decrees.

The document was adopted in order to bring the legislation in line with the new version of the Tax Code, which entered into force on January 1, 2019, nn.by reports.

The need for changes is caused by the provisions of the Tax Code, stipulating the exemption from tax on real estate objects of excess construction in progress, the exclusion of taxation of such objects by land tax at an increased rate.

The norms concerning the abolition of the right of local councils of "deputies" to increase up to 10 times the rates of real estate tax on unused and ineffectively used objects, as well as land tax on land plots occupied by such objects were also brought into compliance. Amendments are envisaged to lift the ban on using the simplified taxation system by business entities engaged in retail trade through Internet stores, as well as providing services related to posting information about Internet stores on the website.

In addition, the amendments are aimed at improving the current mechanism for setting the terms of VAT payment when importing technological equipment to Belarus.
