Lukashenka: Main Pre-Election Preparations Are To Start In August

The dictator has announced the start of the election campaign.

The optimal date for the parliamentary "elections" in Belarus will be chosen in the near future, but the main pre-election preparations are to start in August, Lukashenka said, Interfax reports.

It is proposed to hold the "elections" (the parliamentary ones – note) in November this year. We will decide on the optimal dates in the near future. This means that the main pre-election preparations provided for by the law are to start in August," – Lukashenka said at a meeting on the organization of the upcoming "elections" on Friday.

As previously reported, in April, Lukashenka suggested in his message holding early parliamentary "elections." Lukashenka suggested holding them on November 7. Head of the Central Election Commission of Belarus Lidzia Yarmoshyna said later that she would offer Lukashenka to hold "elections" on November 17, 2019.
