The Vitsebsk residents motivate their actions by intolerance towards the personality of the Soviet leader.

The police detained two Vitsebsk residents, who damaged the sculpture with the folk name "Lenin and the Cat" near the Luchosa railway station in Vitsebsk district, tut.by writes.

On May 5, the gardening association head of a dacha village situated near the Luchosa railway station in Vitsebsk district turned to the police. He said that someone had damaged a sculpture called "Lenin and the Cat". The leader's arm had been broken off, as well as the head of the cat sitting at his feet.

The police found out that the day before, at about 10 p.m. on May 4, the monument was damaged by two men – a 25-year-old resident of Liozna and his 30-year-old friend from Senna. The incident was recorded by the video surveillance cameras in the gardening association.

The men were detained in a rented apartment in Vitsebsk.

"The young people explained their actions by the worldview, denying the attributes of Soviet power, and intolerance to Lenin's personality. In addition, they hold anarchist views," – the Internal Affairs Department notes.
