Rosselkhoznadzor Bans Import Of Apples, Pears From Belarus

Sanctioned goods can be delivered to the Russian Federation under the guise of Belarusian products.

Since April 12, the Rosselkhoznadzor prohibits the importation of apples and pears from Belarus, since it does not exclude that products from the countries, where food sanctions have been imposed, can be delivered to the Russian Federation under the guise of Belarusian products.

This was reported to Interfaxby head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert. According to him, from April 1 to April 7, 36 vehicles with these products without documents were detained at the border. He stressed that they tried to import the fruit illegally.

In addition, 66 cars with apples and pears were detained, which the phytosanitary service of Belarus certified as fruit of Belarusian origin, but, as Dankvert recalled, last year “Belarusian colleagues told us that their domestic apples and pears supplies had been finished in February”.
