Lidselmash Holding Director General Detained

Yury Vashkevich has been put under restraint.

Law enforcement authorities detained Yury Vashkevich, CEO of the Lidselmash Holding Management Company. Informed sources have reported about it to tut.by, and it has been confirmed by the Investigation Committee.

According to one of the interlocutors, the top manager has been imprisoned for 2 months. The second source connects the detention with the shipment of products at reduced prices, as was the case with BelOMO.

The IC is investigating a charge against the general director of the Lidselmash Holding Management Company. The actions of the accused are qualified by the investigators under Part 4 of Art. 210 (embezzlement through abuse of official authority) of the Criminal Code. Vashkevich has been put under restraint.

The Lidselmash holding did not confirm the arrest of the general director. “We do not have such information. According to our information, he is ill,” – one of Vashkevich’s deputies said. Describing the situation at the enterprise, he noted that “the plant is operating normally,” but “it’s the off-season now and the plant is not loaded enough, which affects the financial performance.” In general, “everyone shows compassion for the current situation.”
