Two High-Ranking IC Investigators For Economic Cases Lost Their Jobs

Last week, Colonel Illia Valozin, head of the department for investigating crimes in the field of economics of the Investigation Committee for the city of Minsk, and his colleague, Andrei Kachur, from the Central Office of the Investigative Committee left their posts, two unrelated sources informed tut.by.

According to the journalists’ interlocutor, Andrei Kachur, recently dismissed from law enforcement agencies, is being held as a suspect in a criminal case.

The reasons for Illia Valozin’s resignation are not officially reported. His department dealt with many high-profile economic cases – from the case of Vital Arbuzauand the Fenox group of companies to the second case of Aliaksandr Murauyou and the case of REP Trade Union leaders Hennadz Fiadynich and Ihar Komlik.

The Investigation Committee has refused to comment on personnel issues.
