Lithuania Awards Stanislau Shushkevich With Medal

The Lithuanian side marked the contribution of the politician to the good-neighborly relations between our countries.

On February 15, in Vilnius, Lithuanian Academy of Sciences presented awards to scientists and public figures in connection with the 101st anniversary of the restoration of Lithuanian statehood. The first head of independent Belarus Stanislau Shushkevich is among the awarded persons, reports Radio Racyya.

The Lithuanian side marked the contribution of Shushkevich to good neighborly relations between our countries. Words of solidarity with the Belarusian people and references to the common pages of history sounded in the speeches.

The medal “For the merits to Vilnius and the people” is the second award of Stanislau Shushkevich from the Lithuanian state. In 2010, the first head of independent Belarus received one of the country's highest awards - the Order of Vitaut the Great.
