Lukashenka Informally Rubbed Elbows With Presidents Of Russian Federation, Iran And Turkey

The meeting over a cup of tea has been held in Sochi.

On Thursday evening, Aliaksandr Lukashenka joined the meeting of the leaders of Russia, Iran and Turkey in Sochi, TASS reports.

The meeting of Aliaksandr Lukashenka, Vladimir Putin, Hassan Rouhani and Recep Tayyip Erdogan is held in the format of tea-drinking at the territory of the Rus sanatorium, the ruler’s press service specifies.

Earlier, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, explained to journalists that Lukashenka’s participation in the meeting of the leaders is not related to the issue of the Syrian settlement. “This is not connected with the Astana format, they just took advantage of the fact that they are all in the same city together,” – Peskov explained.

He also clarified that it was the President of the Russian Federation who “provided such a possibility for Lukashenka – to communicate with his colleagues, using the opportunity of his stay here in Sochi at the same time as them.”

We remind that Putin proposed Lukashenka to take part in the meeting the day before.
