"Deputy Of Independence" Ales Shut Died

The other day he was awarded the anniversary medal of the Rada of BPR.

Ales Shut, a member of the BPF opposition in the Supreme Council of the 12th convocation, died at the age of 58 in Lahoisk, Radio Svaboda reports.

Ales Shut was a doctor and was elected to the Supreme Soviet of the 12th convocation in Lahoisk district. He was a member of the BPF deputy opposition, took part in a hunger strike against the so-called referendum of April 11-12, 1995, was severely beaten by the special forces, first in the parliament hall, and then by the police outside the Government House.

Recently, Ales Shut was awarded the anniversary medal of the Rada of the BPR for "services in gaining independence of Belarus".

According to relatives, the cause of death is cancer. The burial will take place in Lahoisk on Thursday.
